The SAT and ACT, both used for college admission and aptitude screening, have
distinct formats and areas of focus. It’s worth noting that some institutions
may prefer one exam over the other, though this is uncommon. Students often find
their strengths align better with one test, so taking practice versions of both is
recommended to determine the most suitable format. Here are some of the key
differences

  • The tests differ in timing and structure: – SAT: 154 questions in 3 hours – ACT:
215 questions in 2 hours 55 minutes The SAT allows more time per question, benefiting those who prefer a deliberate approach, while the ACT’s faster pace suits
students who excel under time pressure.
  • In terms of difficulty: – SAT: More complex wording and nuanced questions,
especially in reading and writing – ACT: Straightforward questions covering a broader range of topics The math sections also differ, with SAT including
    some non-calculator questions.
  • Scoring systems: – SAT: 1600-point scale – ACT: 36-point scale The ACT’s science section benefits those skilled in scientific reasoning and data interpretation,
while the SAT emphasizes vocabulary and critical reading abilities. For life sciences students in particular, the sciences section of ACT (especially if not pursuing mathematics in grade 11 and 12) can help score better, compared to SAT.

This question can be examined from three perspectives: personal growth, college
admissions, and career advancement – the ultimate goal. The impact of
extracurricular activities is undeniable; they are always beneficial. The more
significant question is how they can help, and the answer is multifaceted. Don’t
view extracurricular activities as mere hobbies or pastimes. These are pursuits
you engage in regularly with genuine interest and inquisitiveness. Whether focused
or broad, the aim is to align these activities with your goals and ask yourself why
you’re participating – for enjoyment, to develop specific abilities like public
speaking, or to enhance your academic skills, such as improving coding through
hackathons.

From an admissions perspective, consider the viewpoint of an admissions officer.
All applicants have the necessary grades and scores, but there’s only one spot for
every 10 students. What in your profile will help them further narrow down their
selection and determine you’re an excellent fit? It’s your capacity to initiate,
contribute, and thrive in the college environment. Extracurricular activities allow you to
demonstrate this effectively. Instead of simply stating what you want to do in
college, these activities enable you to say, “Because I’ve done X, I can now
contribute to Y in college” – it’s a behavioral response supported by evidence.

In terms of job prospects and career development, these related experiences
better prepare you to communicate, tackle problems, or simply demonstrate that you
challenge yourself to excel.

The adage “the early bird catches the worm” holds true for college admissions.
Consider this scenario: you’re interested in studying Economics, Psychology, or
Life Sciences. In India, these fields often don’t require mathematics in the final
two years of high school, leading many students to opt out. However, a closer look
at international options reveals that students with mathematics backgrounds have
access to more university choices, as math is often recommended or mandatory for
application. This underscores the importance of early planning.

Additionally, we advocate for starting early for two more reasons. First, leaving
everything to the last minute can be overwhelming. Juggling pre-board exams,
college entrance tests, admission essays, and extracurricular activities in a short
timeframe can be challenging and may compromise quality. Second, and perhaps
most crucially, in the competitive admissions landscape for prestigious institutions
like Ivy League schools, top 100 global universities, or selective Singaporean
universities such as NUS, NTU, and SMU, academic achievements and test scores
are common among applicants. What sets you apart are your complementary activities,
which should demonstrate both depth and breadth. If your experiences mirror
those of countless other students, such as participating in Model United Nations or
holding school leadership positions, how will you distinguish yourself?

Early planning helps address these knowledge and profile gaps, allowing you to
become a well-informed and well-prepared student. This preparation not only
increases your chances of securing a coveted admission offer but also sets you
up for success during your college years.

We wish it was a simple and straightforward answer. While we wont write it for
you – we will help you write. If you are a student applying to study abroad – in most
probability you would take at least one English language exam and may be an
aptitude test as well. So, you are not new to reading comprehension or grammar, etc. But
from our observation, students often struggle to write great essays because we are
often never trained to talk or write about ourselves during our schooling and
college years. So, our forms such as goals exercise, research interest, and
self-reflection will help you brainstorm and identify the best narrative for
your essays. Then we urge you to write your first drafts in your own words and our
essay editors will work with you to polish your drafts further. Our grammar,
plagiarism, and AI detection tools will allow you to check the final essays thoroughly
before you hit submit.

Traditional MBA programs typically target early-career professionals with 3-6
years of work experience. These full-time courses last 1-2 years, depending on the
country. As many students aim to switch careers post-MBA, these programs offer
robust placement assistance.

In contrast, Executive MBA (EMBA) programs are tailored for working
professionals, usually in a part-time format. Classes may be held on evenings or weekends, or
through a hybrid model combining online learning with on-campus residency
periods. EMBAs generally cater to senior executives and managers with 10+ years of
experience. The focus is on enhancing strategic management and leadership skills
rather than job placement. These programs emphasize networking opportunities
with high-level professionals and decision-makers.

Global MBA programs bridge the gap between traditional MBAs and EMBAs. They can
be full-time or part-time, but their distinguishing feature is a strong emphasis on
global markets, international finance, or marketing. Often, these programs
incorporate international residencies, study abroad terms, or campus rotations
across 2-3 countries. Global MBAs are ideal for individuals seeking exposure to
international business practices, cross-cultural management, and diverse
cohorts, along with travel experiences.

In the United States, the terms Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior are
commonly used in both high school and college settings. These designations typically
correspond to the final four years of high school and the four years of
undergraduate studies. For instance, a student in their first year of high
school (9th grade) or college is often labeled a Freshman. The subsequent years follow
the progression of Sophomore, Junior, and finally Senior. These classifications
serve to indicate a student’s academic standing and anticipated year of graduation. They
are extensively employed in educational institutions, social environments, and
administrative procedures throughout the American educational framework.

describe government assistance primarily provided to citizens and permanent residents.
Conversely, scholarships are offered through various means. The most prevalent
type is merit-based scholarships, which are available from universities worldwide.
Additionally, some scholarships consider income or financial circumstances,
known as need-based scholarships. These take into account the annual income and assets of
parents or sponsors. Furthermore, external organizations, such as the Inlaks
Shivdasani Foundation or Tata Trust, QUAD Fellowships, etc., offer scholarships
that may combine merit and need-based criteria. The availability of scholarships
varies depending on the country, program, and level of study. However, it’s encouraging
to note that students can potentially receive up to 100% tuition coverage or even
fully funded scholarships, often referred to as “full ride” scholarships.

Absolutely. However, it’s advisable to verify requirements for specific
professions, especially those with professional registration processes, to determine if the
qualification meets additional criteria such as exams or work experience. For
instance, in the legal field, we advise checking the Bar Council of India’s list
of approved international qualifications to facilitate smoother cross-registration
in India.

The straightforward answer is “most likely.” While private companies generally
have no issues with international qualifications, government and public sector
organizations adhere to strict guidelines. The Association of Indian
Universities (AIU) serves as the primary authority for validating the equivalence and
legitimacy of foreign credentials. Therefore, if the AIU confirms that a qualification
meets the eligibility criteria set for government or public sector positions, it will
typically be accepted.

STEM degrees are consistently sought after and provide students with the
opportunity to extend their internship experience through the OPT (optional practical
training) period. However, it’s crucial to consider two additional factors. First,
identify which STEM fields align with your interests and which specializations are in
higher demand. Second, for programs like architecture, accounting, law, and psychology
that require state-level accreditation and registration, it’s important to research
any potential limitations or locations offering better job prospects. Monitoring
labor market trends can help you understand future demands and openings in your chosen
field. For instance, while many are aware that the computer and information
technology sector generally offers strong employment prospects, further
investigation would determine which specific sub-fields such as data analytics,
cybersecurity, or software engineering may present even more opportunities.
